I adopted Timon just over 3 months ago. He's 16 years old and he's my first cat! I wanted to adopt an older cat since I've never owned a cat and thought it would be best to learn basic care with a cat that was already litter trained and had an established personality. I work long hours so I knew I needed a pet that could be fairly independent during the day. Timon has been so friendly since the moment I brought him home. He loves exploring the house and seeing what the humans are up to. The vet has even said he climbs around and explores when he's there too! He’s so nosy and outgoing. He's a very gentle guy, and though he's been friendly from start, he's been getting more comfortable in his home. He has started to be more demanding for attention by jumping into laps or rubbing my legs when I'm not paying him enough attention. He likes to cozy up with a blanket on the couch, or burrow in under the bedsheets especially now that it’s getting colder out. He absolutely loves being brushed, if someone picks up the brush he comes running over meowing. And he's got such soft fur, that’s so handsome with the little flecks of grey throughout. Knowing I'm making such an impact in this cat's life is so rewarding, and I can tell he's very grateful and happy to have a loving home for his golden years.
