Meet Zero, a young kitten who proves that resilience and sweetness go hand in hand. This little guy has a remarkable story, but what really stands out is his gentle, loving nature and his absolute belief that everyone is wonderful.
Zero is a natural cuddler who loves being close to his people. He'll often climb into your arms while you're relaxing, purring contentedly as he gently pats your face with his paws. When playtime rolls around, Zero dials it up! Give him a plastic spring or crinkly ball and watch him go. He'll even play fetch, joyfully bringing toys back for you to throw again and again. Whether he's playing independently for an hour or snuggling up for another cuddle session, Zero is seriously just the happiest little dude.
Zero is special in more ways than one. He was born with a condition called atresia ani, which means his digestive tract didn't have an exit. He had specialty surgery to create a new opening, and the surgery was successful. He's now a happy, healthy, playful kitten. This surgery does mean Zero has some ongoing care needs. He's prone to constipation, so he needs consistent food and a small dose of Restoralax (an inexpensive stool softener available at most drugstores) twice a day. He takes it easily, so it only takes a few seconds. Because his opening was surgically created, it doesn't have a rectal sphincter to pinch shut. While he uses the litter box exclusively, he may inadvertently drop small nuggets now and then or need an occasional wipe. Despite all the necessary but unpleasant care (butt baths, cleaning, medications), Zero forgives instantly every time. He's all happy vibes and affection.
Zero needs to be adopted into a home with another young, playful cat who can be his companion and playmate. He's good with kids of all ages and has a gentle, forgiving temperament. He has not been tested with dogs. If you're looking for a loving, resilient kitten who will bring warmth and companionship to your home, Zero might be the perfect fit.
