Team Cat Rescue will consider adoptive families in the GTHA and parts of Durham and Newmarket areas only. This is simply due to logistics and our ability to support our adopters in case of emergency. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the cat's background and your family's needs. Every cat is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right cat with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
If you are willing to wait for the right animal to be matched to you, you are an ideal candidate for Team Cat Rescue. As our success rate proves, these precious cats are well worth the wait.
We appreciate you wanting to bring a cat into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.
We will review your application upon receipt. Our volunteer will set up a time with you to chat. Then we will contact your vet (if you have one) and personal references. You will be notified if your application was approved or declined by the Directors of the Rescue.
Once approved to adopt, the search for your cat begins if the cat(s) that you are interested in is not available or not a good match. Volunteers will begin to evaluate cats currently in our foster care program who may be a good fit for you and your family and discuss with you.
Once you are approved for a specific cat, we will connect you with the foster parent to schedule a meeting in person or virtually with the cat and discuss all-things cat. We recommend that all household members be present and that you ask any questions at that time.
