Sweet Belize has had a hard start to her young life, living on the streets and having several litters outside, with her babies sadly not surviving the harsh weather.
Belize came to Team Cat Rescue after she went missing for a few days and the original rescue who was helping her went looking, eventually finding her trapped in an abandoned underground warehouse. Despite their best efforts, the landlord would not let the rescue into the building to free her, and emergency services would not help either. During that time, the rescue would feed her daily under the door and poured water to keep her alive.
Months passed and after pleading with the warehouse owner, he finally came to open the doors. She was in a horrible state, full of ringworm, and was nothing more than skin and bones. After a long recovery and being spayed, Belize is now healthy and ready for a loving family of her own, having been brought to Canada for that opportunity.
Despite all she has gone though, Belize is still quite social and friendly, making friends with people and other kitties alike. She is a survivor, and if anyone is deserving of a happy, stress-free life, it’s her.
