With his majestic face and seafoam eyes, Hawkins is sure to win over your heart! This boy faced his share of struggles early on in life. He probably experienced days without a meal, based on his enthusiastic love for food! He also dealt with entropion, a condition that warranted eyelid surgery. Thankfully, Hawkins’ surgery was successful, and he's been feeling much better since. Once he becomes comfortable in a home, he loves to play, especially with another cat friend. His current playmate is Tinker, who he is bonded with (and, as they say, two is better than one)! He would do best with another young cat in the home. Hawkins also loves his daily brushing time, which helps to keep his luscious coat fluffy and shiny.
Hawkins is around two years old, but he sure hasn’t lost his kitten energy! The only time it wasn’t on full display is when he was first settling into his foster home, and he hid himself away. However, it didn’t take long for Hawkins to become comfortable in his foster home, at which point the zoomies took over. It became clear that the only way to slow this boy down is by tuckering him out with playtime! Hawkins has never encountered a toy he didn't like.
Due to Hawkins’ past with food insecurity, he’ll gobble up anything put in front of him! It would be best to use a slow feeder or puzzle toy to give him his meals. Since Hawkins’ fur is so long and voluminous, he requires daily brushing, which also helps to prevent hairballs and constipation. This is a good time to clean around his eyes as well. Hawkins greatly appreciates all of the care taken in maintaining his health and fabulous appearance!
Sometimes Hawkins hisses at things that confuse him. He can also drool a bit while purring. Try scratching around his scruff to unlock the loudest purrs known to mankind! He’s not much of a lap cat, but he loves to be by your side. If Hawkins and Tinker sounds like the perfect addition to your home, contact Team Cat Rescue
