When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade; when life gives you Melon, you make a friend.
Melon is a big gal with a big personality to match. Her tummy pouch may swing a little low but that’s just where all her love is stored. And she is so full of love to give. She is incredibly affectionate - she loves cuddling right up against her foster mom, particularly if that means she can get some scritches and belly rubs as well. Sometimes, she can get a little overstimulated from all those pets and nuzzles, but she will gently let you know when she’s ready for a little space. This sweet girl will be your biggest fan - from the couch, to the bed, to the kitchen - she’s an intrepid explorer who will follow you wherever you go. Recently, Melon has even discovered her love of being a lap cat. And like a warm, weighted blanket, she’s a dose of pure comfort at the end of a long day.
And could she be any more cute? Just look at that gorgeous coat! We can only imagine that Dolly Parton was singing about Melon in her song “Jolene”. Her beauty is beyond compare, with flaming specks of auburn fur, and eyes of emerald green - truly, no heart is safe when Melon walks in a room. She has captured ours already, that’s for sure!
Melon is looking for a home that will play with her regularly and commit to a weight loss program. She is an inquisitive girl with bursts of playfulness, and needs a home that can keep her active. There’s no need to be intimidated by her weight loss journey - when Melon came to Team Cat Rescue, she weighed around 25 lbs, but with a consistent routine, is now down to 19.5 lbs! She’s looking for a training partner who can help her reach that final finish line. Go Melon go!
