Do you believe in love at first sight? I sure do. So does my furever mom. We saw each other and that was it. We just knew we were meant for each other. I wasn’t sure things were going to work out so well for me. You see, ...I thought I had a forever home once. For some reason it didn’t work out and I found myself in a very scary high kill shelter. I don’t know why. I’m obviously a handsome boy, and very outgoing once you get to know me. Being in the shelter really made me anxious and frightened. Then Team Cat Rescue decided I deserved a second chance for happiness and took me to my foster mom. I was still nervous, and just didn’t trust that she wouldn’t take me back to that horrible place. I couldn’t eat and got a bit sick so my foster mom had to take me to the vet. It reminded me a lot of that bad place. My foster mom spent loads of time with me, brushed me, gave me toys and played with me which I hadn’t had a lot of before. She took really good care of me and I knew I could start to trust again. I just couldn’t contain my excitement and acted just like I was a kitten again. I even started helping with the dishes by taking the cutlery. Eventually my furever mom saw a picture of me being my silly self posing in the bathroom sink. She knew I had personality. She told Team she wanted a black cat like me because she knew we often got overlooked because of our colour, and when she saw my amazing eyes she knew she just had to meet me. It was arranged for her to come to my foster mom’s for us to meet, and that’s when it happened. I just couldn’t take my eyes off her. I stared and stared. I asked for pets and brushes just to be sure but I knew she was the one. This was my furever mom.
